It’s the idea of bringing mindfulness and sensibility to the heart center, of merging meditation with yoga; it’s the practice of Kundalini. Steph McCreary brings us the exaltation of Kundalini Yoga each month, with “Battling the Winter Blues” headlining this Saturday’s 4:00pm – 6:00pm event.

McCreary has been practicing the art of Kundalini for many years now and utilizes it to complement her daily life, “It will enhance your capacity to meditate, and nudge you closer to optimal health.” She goes on to describe how it can awaken your overall senses, “As the ‘yoga of awareness,’ Kundalini Yoga is designed to heighten your conscious awareness of Self, Spirit, body, emotional patterns, mental patterns, and even relationships.”

Kundalini is known to be the oldest form of yoga, and its purpose has always been to dispense the energy that lives within your being. This is especially beneficial for those battling with their own internal obstacles. “The result can be a more integrated and higher functioning neocortex,” McCreary explains. “As well as the rare opportunity to heal limiting belief systems & past traumas.”

This Saturday, these fundamentals will become a staple by optimizing your overall health, physically, mentally and emotionally. Students will focus on their breathwork to nurture and heighten the immune system and will enjoy a physical high that improves the subconscious. McCreary is a firm believer in cultivating happiness and awareness within yourself, “I intend for it to be fun, transformative and informative for any level of yoga student.”
